THETIMESNEWS.id |BENGKALIS – The Bengkalis Sub-regional Police organized a free mass circumcision program for children from low-income families at the Bantan Police Office in Bengkalis District, Riau, on Wednesday (June 17, 2026), as part of the commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day.

Bengkalis Police Chief, Superintendent Fahrian Saleh Siregar, said the initiative reflects the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to serving the public not only through maintaining security and order, but also by providing tangible social and humanitarian assistance.

“This health service reflects the Indonesian National Police’s commitment to serve the community, not only in maintaining security but also by providing direct social benefits,” Fahrian said. He added that such programs are expected to further strengthen the relationship between the police and local residents.

The event was attended by regional officials, religious and community leaders, as well as the families of the participants. Dozens of children underwent the circumcision procedure under the supervision of medical personnel, accompanied by their parents.

Chairman of the Malay Customary Institution of Bengkalis, Datuk Sri Syaukani Al Karim, expressed his appreciation for the initiative, noting that it provides significant support to underprivileged families.

“This program is very beneficial and greatly helps families who may face financial difficulties in accessing healthcare services for their children,” he said.

The mass circumcision program formed part of a series of community-oriented activities held by the Bengkalis Police to mark the 80th anniversary of Bhayangkara Day, emphasizing the spirit of service, compassion, and solidarity with the community.
